Hay and Chaff

A full range of hay is available through Tamworth Rural including prime lucerne, second grade lucerne, pasture hay, oaten hay and barley straw. The bulk of our hay comes from a strategic relationship between Tamworth Rural and two of the region's largest irrigated hay suppliers who currently supply exclusively to us.

Similarly, Tamworth Rural has a strategic relationship with two of the country’s leading chaff suppliers – Manuka Chaff of Quirindi and Logan and Hutchins of Ganmain. We supply quality- assured lucerne, oaten and wheaten chaff.

Lucerne hay is grown on Manuka as well as neighbouring properties, and is stored for later use as the raw material in the production of Manuka Chaff. Almost all of the Lucerne used in our chaff is grown on the rich Liverpool Plains, soils renowned for supplying all the vitamins and minerals required for healthy animal production.
